adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Fee has found her home! Her story: Fee brought a ten-pup litter into the world in an abandoned house in a village near Zalau. The neighborhood found out and wanted to kill both the puppies and Fee. Our animal rescuer Sonia saved the mother and the ten puppies and brought them to her home in the garden. Probably Fee had been a stray dog her whole life, with everyone chasing her away. She likes to be stroked, but it's obvious that she wasn't used to it. Leash and harness are new to her. Fee will need a lot of time and training to get used to life with humans and life in the house. Generally, Fee appears calm and balanced and seems very trainable. From her appearance, she could have both herding dog and hunting dog genes. Therefore, we are looking for people who already have dog experience and a lot of empathy. Fee is 62 cm in height and weighs 28 kg. Certainly, Fee is not a city apartment dog. A house with a garden would be ideal, where she might also retreat sometimes, because at first, it will definitely not be easy for her to live exclusively in the house. Housebreaking is probably foreign to her, just like the rest of the dog 1×1. But since Fee has already experienced the benefits of being surrounded by people and she is a smart little head, she will surely be happy to get used to living with people and their rules. At 7 years old, she is in the best age. Childhood and puberty are long behind her, and she can now start anew. Maybe she will also attend dog training classes together. She probably wouldn't mind cuddles, beautiful walks, and a warm, snuggly dog bed. Who would like to give Fee a beautiful home and be enchanted by her. She can start her great journey at any time. She is then microchipped, neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas and has her EU pet passport in her bag. After a positive But also a foster home would already be a big help for her. Many thanks to Christin! You gave Fee a name and thus she finally has an identity. As of: 28.01.

Stand: 28.01.2025

About Fee

What life with Fee looks like

Fee is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fee, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fee?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fee on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fee if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fee already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fee isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fee and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
