Feliksz

Komondor · Male · Young · 2 years

Native Country: Hungary The beautiful and majestic Feliksz arrived in Kecskemét from the village of Pilis on December 4, 2025, with his children Cezi and Evron, who sadly passed away, and Gizi, Cezi and Evron’s mother. The owner of Feliksz passed away, and there was no family member or relative who wanted or could offer Feliksz and his dog family a new home. Thus, he unfortunately found his way to the animal shelter. We are holding our hands firmly crossed for Feliksz that he will soon be discovered by his people and be able to enjoy the sunny sides of life. Feliksz is a friendly, attentive, and wonderful guy, currently very unkempt, but at the current time of year, he cannot be shorn and freed from his fur. He loves the animal shelter staff and always looks forward to when they give him some time and attention, which is always in short supply for so many dogs. Feliksz can already walk on a leash, but he is certainly still in need of some refinement. Otherwise, he should still be taught a few things from the dog ABC with loving care. Feliksz wants to be adequately exercised and discover the world with his new people. As a herding dog, he belongs to the Hungarian herding breeds. Feliksz should therefore be in the hands of those who are familiar with herding dogs and can provide an environment that matches his breed and genetics. Feliksz needs a garden and wants to live in the countryside, not in a big city. He gets along well with his fellow animals. For our wonderful Feliksz, we are searching for a loving home with people who will guide him through the rest of his life with love but also consistency, who understand and appreciate the characteristics of a herding dog, and who are informed about the breed. Show him what it feels like to have his own home, his own food bowl, a soft bed, and people who will spoil him with lots of cuddles, exciting walks, and of course full family integration. On January 17, 2026, a voluntary, Hungarian helper writes: "Feliksz arrived in the care of the animal shelter at the beginning of December 2025. Since January 2026, he has regularly attended mentor days. Feliksz is a sweet, friendly, and very people-oriented dog. Curious and interested, he went on a walk together with his mentor and his dog partner Gizi. Feliksz and Gizi came to the animal shelter together, live in the same pen, and like each other very much. Together they stood with the mentors to get cuddles and affection. Feliksz is well-handled on the leash." Who can Feliksz be a loyal companion and friend to? The Komondor is listed on the register in the Swiss canton of Ticino and is subject to a breeding permit there. Feliksz is ready for travel.

DE·Show original

About Feliksz

What life with Feliksz looks like

Feliksz is a young adult komondor dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Feliksz, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Feliksz?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Feliksz on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Feliksz if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Feliksz already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Feliksz isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Feliksz and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
