Origin Country: Hungary Morfeusz was found alone wandering around the community of Helvécia on September 12, 2024. Kind people called the animal shelter, and Morfeusz was immediately picked up and brought to safety. Unfortunately, he didn’t have a chip, nor was he reported missing. It’s always surprising how there are people who don’t care if their four-legged companion is no longer around. Nevertheless, we can’t change his past, but his future lies in our hearts because he deserves to be loved and respected. Morfeusz is a friendly, affectionate, and kind fellow who loves people and enjoys attention and affection. How watchful and territorial he is is currently not evident at the shelter; he is quiet at the moment and not interested in other dogs or people passing by his kennel. However, his new people should be aware of this wonderful breed, as they can be quite independent. Since he likely lived as a chained dog, he still needs to learn a few things about being a well-behaved dog. Morfeusz needs to live in the countryside, not in the city, as he wouldn’t feel comfortable there. A large garden is a must. Morfeusz shares his kennel with Romulus, which works well, but they are fed separately. For our wonderful Morfeusz, only sunshine should shine from now on. He is looking for knowledgeable and breed-experienced people who will lovingly but consistently guide him through the rest of his life and understand, love, and value the nature and character of these dogs. Morfeusz would like to have a purpose, enjoy beautiful and varied walks, get lots of cuddles, and be fully family-oriented. A large four-legged friend wants to finally discover the world! On June 3, 2025, an animal shelter worker wrote: "Morfeusz is a playful dog, he gets along well with other dogs, loves people, and can walk on a leash." On September 25, 2025, a volunteer, an Hungarian helper, wrote: "Morfeusz came to the animal shelter in September 2024. Thanks to his engaged mentors, he can participate in mentor days and go on exciting walks. Morfeusz is a loving, friendly, and people-oriented dog. He walks nicely on a leash and is very happy when he gets attention and affection. He enjoys every moment of the walks, the cuddles, and the pampering. He is closely connected to his mentor and mentor-walkers. He lives with Romulus in a pen. Together, they share their home at the animal shelter and go on walks together." On April 17, 2026, a volunteer, an Hungarian helper, wrote: "Morfeusz came into the shelter’s care in September 2024. He will be ten years old soon and has already lived in the animal shelter for over a year. This is a long and stressful time for him. On mentor days, he has the opportunity to leave his kennel, and his mentors take him for walks. Morfeusz is a loving and friendly dog. He is playful, active, attentive, and smart. He walks nicely on a leash and is very happy when he gets attention and affection. He enjoys every moment of the walks, the cuddles, and the pampering. He is closely connected to his mentor and mentor-walkers. He lives with another dog in a kennel, with which he also goes on walks together. He can be well socialized with an existing dog." Ursprungsland: Ungarn Der hübsche Morfeusz irrte am 12.9.2024 in der Gemeinde Helvécia alleine umher. Nette Menschen riefen das Tierheim an, und Morfeusz wurde umgehend abgeholt und in Sicherheit gebracht. Leider hatte er keinen Chip, und als vermisst gemeldet wurde er auch nicht. Immer wieder erstaunlich, dass es Leute gibt, denen es egal ist, wenn ihr Vierbeiner nicht mehr da ist. Wie dem auch sei, seine Vergangenheit können wir nicht mehr ändern, aber seine Zukunft liegt uns am Herzen, denn er soll geliebt und geachtet werden. Morfeusz ist ein freundlicher, lieber und netter Kerl, der Menschen mag und sich über Aufmerksamkeit und Zuwendung freut. Wie wachsam und territorial er ist, zeigt sich im Tierheim aktuell nicht, er ist zurzeit ruhig und weder an anderen Hunden noch an Menschen interessiert, die an seinem Kennel vorbeilaufen. Seine neuen Menschen sollten sich aber über diese tolle Rasse informiert haben, denn es sind recht eigenständige Persönlichkeiten. Da er vermutlich als Kettenhund lebte, muss er noch ein paar Dinge aus dem Hundeeinmaleins beigebracht bekommen. Morfeusz muss auf dem Land wohnen, er gehört nicht in die Stadt, dort würde er sich nicht wohlfühlen. Ein grosser Garten ist ein Muss. Seinen Kennel teilt er sich mit Romulus, was prima klappt, nur zum Füttern werden die beiden getrennt. Für unseren wunderbaren Morfeusz soll von nun an nur noch die Sonne scheinen. Er sucht Kenner und rasseerfahrene Menschen, die ihn liebevoll, aber konsequent durch sein weiteres Leben führen und das Wesen und die Charaktereigenschaften dieser Hunde verstehen, lieben und schätzen. Morfeusz möchte gerne eine Aufgabe haben, schöne und abwechslungsreiche Spaziergänge geniessen und täglich ganz viele Streicheleinheiten bekommen, voller Familienanschluss ist selbstverständlich. Ein stattlicher Vierbeiner möchte endlich die Welt entdecken! Update vom 24.07.2026: Morfeusz wird bald 10 Jahre alt und lebt schon seit rund eineinhalb Jahren im Tierheim, eine lange und belastende Zeit für ihn. An den Mentortagen darf er seinen Kennel verlassen und mit seinen Mentoren spazieren gehen, und dann blüht er richtig auf. Er ist ein lieber, freundlicher und menschenbezogener Hund, verspielt, aktiv, aufmerksam und klug. An der Leine läuft er schön und achtet aufmerksam auf seinen Begleiter, und er ist überglücklich, wenn er Aufmerksamkeit und Zuwendung bekommt. Jeden Moment der Spaziergänge geniesst er, ebenso die Streicheleinheiten und das Verwöhntwerden, zu seinen Mentorinnen und Betreuern hat er eine enge Bindung aufgebaut. Er lebt mit einem anderen Hund in einem Kennel, mit dem er gemeinsam zu den Spaziergängen startet, und mit einem bereits vorhandenen Hund kann er gut vergesellschaftet werden. Morfeusz ist reisefertig. Ein grosses Dankeschön an Lisa Ferrari für die Übernahme der Patenschaft von Morfeusz.
