Feline

European Shorthair · Female · Adult · 3 years

A 3-year-old feline is a true feline. She initially keeps people at arm's length, but once she trusts you, she's all about attention and knows how to ask for it: This lady knows what she wants and how to get it, there's a real feline head on her. She had the misfortune of ending up at the shelter when it started getting busier. Feline has a strong dislike for other felines and is very busy keeping an eye on other cats in the space and keeping them at bay. This is getting in the way of her seeing people more often. Feline wants to leave soon. We think she would like to be able to go outside in the long run and it's important that her new home has outdoor space. She has only one deep desire: that there are no other cats in the house. We are looking for people who can look through the stress-prone Feline and slowly let her get used to it so the sweet Feline can come out again. Someone who looks at her body language and responds to it and gives her what she needs. Then she promises with her paw on her cat's heart that she will show her best side and become a sweet house friend. Are you looking for a feline with character? Then Feline might be the cat for you. Come and see her soon.

About Feline

What life with Feline looks like

Feline is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Dierenasiel Utrecht in Utrecht.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Feline, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Feline?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenasiel Utrecht handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Feline on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Feline if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenasiel Utrecht will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Feline already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Feline isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenasiel Utrecht early rather than rehoming privately; they know Feline and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
