Fellow

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Mixed-breed puppy Fellow seeks his great fortune The little Fellow was left together with his 8 siblings in a shopping mall in Bulgaria. Now he is in safety and can travel to his own home or a foster home from July. Fellow is an open, bashful, and curious puppy who is ready to discover the world. He greets people kindly, is happy about attention, and enjoys every pat. He also gets along well with other dogs. Of course, Fellow still has to learn the entire dog ABC: house training, being alone, car rides, leash walking, and meeting many new environmental stimuli are all part of the process. With patience, loving consistency, and positive reinforcement, he will surely develop wonderfully. We wish people for Fellow who will give him time to settle in and accompany him with love through life. A puppy brings not only many beautiful and fun moments but also responsibility, patience, and work. Since we do not know his parent dogs, possible herding dog traits cannot be ruled out. Interested parties should therefore consider possible character traits. An rural home with an enclosed yard would be ideal for Fellow. Who will give Fellow a loving home and a secure future? Adopting a shelter dog always means taking on a special responsibility and can also be a challenge. The dogs bring a backpack of past experiences or unlearned situations with them and need time to adjust to their new life. If you have serious interest in adopting Fellow, please contact the responsible mediator at SALVA Hundehilfe. We would also be very happy about the provision of a foster home.

About Fellow

What life with Fellow looks like

Fellow is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fellow, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fellow?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fellow on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fellow if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fellow already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fellow isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fellow and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
