Femorina

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten

Femorina is a charming white and nutmeg-ticked tabby with bright yellow-green eyes and a lovely pink nose. She is vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for parasites. She has not yet been tested for FIV and FeLV. The name Femorina comes from her small disability: her left hind leg was badly injured when she was very young and has not been treated and is now irreversible. She drags it when she walks. (In the photo on the right you can clearly see the leg affected by the trauma.) What strikes you immediately, however, is that this condition does not seem to bother her and does not prevent her from engaging in her athletic pursuits, particularly climbing! Around six months of age (so around December), in conjunction with sterilization, the amputation of the limb will be necessary, but given her strong, tenacious and energetic character, we are certain that she will adapt without particular difficulties and that the lack of the leg will not represent a major obstacle. Character: Femorina is a real volcano! Playful and lively, she is curious about everything that happens around her and loves to be involved in any activity. When she arrived at the shelter she was rather shy and not used to human contact. She had grown up in a context with few interactions and attention, so she had not learned to trust people or appreciate cuddles. Over the weeks, however, she has made enormous progress: today she is a sociable and communicative kitten who welcomes volunteers and operators with enthusiasm, calling their attention to involve them in the game. She is learning day by day to let herself go even to physical contact and continues to surprise with the speed with which she gains confidence and trust. With her mother she is a bit "naughty" and the narrow space of their box does not help to contain her exuberance. In the central photo you can see the mother! Adoption ideal: For Femorina we are looking for a context rich in stimuli and people aware of her not simple early life, willing to accompany her with patience in the period of acclimatization. She is the ideal companion for a family, a couple or a single person present and affectionate, capable of offering her company, attention and many opportunities for play. Thanks to her curious character and her growing trust in people, we believe she can fit well into different family contexts, even in the presence of children educated to a correct relationship with animals and adequately supervised. It can also be a good choice for those who are at their first experience with a cat, provided they are willing to respect their times and build a relationship with her based on trust. In conjunction with sterilization (around six months of age), it will be necessary to proceed with the amputation of the leg and follow her in the convalescence phase. Although she is probably completely unaware of being "differently abled" and, like all cats, has remarkable adaptability and spatial orientation skills, it will still be necessary to pay a little more attention to the domestic environment, to make sure there are no potentially risky situations. Adoptable exclusively in the province of Monza and Brianza and in the neighboring municipalities. Provenance: Recovered in an apartment in Lissone (MB) together with her mother and another young cat (already adopted), she came from a context where she had had few opportunities to interact with people.

About Femorina

What life with Femorina looks like

Femorina is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at ENPA Monza e Brianza in Monza.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting Femorina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Femorina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ENPA Monza e Brianza handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Femorina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Femorina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ENPA Monza e Brianza will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Femorina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Femorina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ENPA Monza e Brianza early rather than rehoming privately; they know Femorina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
