Adoption Requirements Adoption Process Request this Animal Now! Adoption Requirements Adoption Process Request this Cat Now! Fenja suddenly appeared near a foster home and began wandering the streets there. Since she wasn't one of the usual stray cats, she stood out. But that wasn't all—she followed every pedestrian, gently tried to climb up their legs, and constantly sought attention. The moment we brought her to the foster home, she relaxed, became calm and happy: she was a born house cat! This little, almost-white lady cat continues to show herself as incredibly cuddly and people-oriented. She loves snuggling, falling asleep on her humans' laps, greeting them at the door, and following them around all day long—Fenja seeks and enjoys her humans' attention more than anything else. Unfortunately, her experiences with other cats haven't been quite as happy, and the little mouse doesn't feel particularly comfortable around other indoor cats. Since she's been allowed to live isolated from the other cats, she's doing much better. Therefore, we're looking for a home where her humans will be there exclusively for her, giving her the love and attention that Fenja so richly deserves. Fenja is a house cat who doesn't belong on the street; thus, we'd like to find her a home with exclusively indoor living. Before leaving, she has her EU pet passport ready, is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, flea-treated, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, and can start her new life immediately upon payment of an adoption fee. If you'd like to become Fenja's family and give her a home full of love and security, we'd be delighted to hear from you. We sincerely thank Anika S. for the lovely name—and thus for giving Fenja her identity. As of June 21, 2026 Further information on pre-adoption checks and adoption fees

About Fenja

What life with Fenja looks like

Fenja is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fenja, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fenja?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fenja on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fenja if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fenja already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fenja isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fenja and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
