adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Randy has found a home! 42929 Wermelskirchen. Randy can travel to his foster home by the end of February! His story: Bistrita, Romania. Sports cannon Randy wants to start fresh with you! Don't let Randy's initial shyness discourage you. But who can blame him. Unfortunately, we know nothing about his past, but it surely has its reasons why Randy is unsettled in new situations. But Randy still has faith in people and is very friendly to them. And once he warms up, he is really sweet and playful. He gets along well with other dogs, but cats have not yet been tested. At about 47 cm, he has a nice medium size. From his appearance, Randy could potentially carry both Husky and German Shepherd genes. We are looking for people who will give Randy some time to settle in because of his initial hesitation. His new family should be active and able to keep the energetic Randy both physically and mentally engaged. Attending a positively reinforced dog training class is recommended. Randy might also show a more pronounced prey drive. Therefore, recall training should be intensified. Although both Huskies and German Shepherds are generally very balanced, Randy is not necessarily a beginner dog. At 1.5 years old, Randy is no longer a baby, but puberty is not yet over. It will take some time for the synapses in his brain to reconnect properly, and he will likely question everything he has learned. But with patience and a touch of humor, you will likely be rewarded with a sporty and loyal companion. We cannot say whether Randy is already familiar with home life, so some minor mishaps should be forgiven at first. Randy can pack his luggage at any time. He travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated, and he also brings his EU pet passport. A foster home would also be a great help for the handsome Randy. Thank you, Marina J.! You have made it possible for Randy to start a new life with your nametag sponsorship.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Randy hat ein Zuhause gefunden! 42929 Wermelskirchen. Sportskanone Randy will mit Dir durchstarten!

About Randy

What life with Randy looks like

Randy is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Randy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Randy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Randy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Randy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Randy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Randy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Randy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
