Fia

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Kitten · 7 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal!Fia has found her Forever Home! Her story: Cluj, Romania The 7-month-old Fia was found in a farm in Romania, searching for a warm place to sleep and something to eat. Fia is a bit small and delicate – at first glance, one might think she's a kitten! But her tiny frame doesn't detract from the unusually intelligent look in her large, shining eyes. At first, she's a little shy, but once Fia warms up, she wraps you around her friendly, affectionate little finger. She enjoys spending time with people and other cats, as well as on her own. Fia travels vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, flea-treated, and dewormed to her new home. She has an EU pet passport and is tested negative for FIV and FELV. Many thanks to Michael S., who gave Fia her beautiful name!

About Fia

What life with Fia looks like

Fia is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
