Adopt Fiete

Romanian Shepherd · Male · Adult · 7 years

Fiete is a charming Mioritic-mixed breed with a loving and gentle nature. He is friendly, playful, and very people-oriented. On the leash, he shows great manners and reliably follows his trusted people. In interactions with other dogs, Fiete is absolutely social. He gets along well with dogs of both sexes and currently shares his kennel with his brother Zeus. With him, he shows playful and uncomplicated behavior in everyday life. Fiete is a special dog with a unique appearance. When let out with his brother Zeus from the kennel, the two sometimes appear like two energetic "Wischmops," bounding across the yard with boundless joy. This mix of gentleness and playful energy makes him charming. Unfortunately, in the stressful shelter environment, Fiete does not always have the opportunity to receive the care and attention he needs. Therefore, he is completely shorn once a year. It is therefore crucial that his new home or foster home has enough time for brushing, getting used to fur care, and general care. For Fiete, we are looking for a home with dog-experienced people, ideally with experience in handling livestock guardian dogs or livestock guardian dog mixes, who understand his special needs. A house with a securely fenced garden in a rural setting is a prerequisite.

About Fiete

What life with Fiete looks like

Fiete is a adult romanian shepherd dog waiting at Arme Hundeseelen in Năsăud.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇷🇴Adopting from Romania

Romanian rescues handle the highest volume of cross-border adoptions in the EU. Animals are quarantined and fully vetted before transport. Reputable rescues maintain detailed health records and post-adoption follow-up.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fiete, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fiete?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Arme Hundeseelen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fiete on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fiete if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Arme Hundeseelen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fiete already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fiete isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Arme Hundeseelen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fiete and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
