Adopt Figaro

Male · Puppy · 9 months

Little Figaro, who you see in the photo, was the reason our clinic has been a happier place in recent months. Every morning he greets us with a long "Meeeeeeewwwww!" and then starts energetically rolling around, trying in every way to attract our attention. The reason for this behavior is the long time the kitten spent separated from the other cats in the clinic. This was necessary because Figaro could not be vaccinated before he recovered, and this turned out to be a prolonged task. The sweetie was brought in with a large skin wound on his head, which could not heal without the necessary treatment and kept increasing in size. In addition, the area was very inflamed and caused the kitten a lot of itching and discomfort. We immediately started therapy, which included treating the wound several times a day and putting a collar on him so that his tail could not further irritate the area. The collar was not pleasant for Figaro, it hindered him from grooming, but he heroically tolerated it, and we removed it each time we treated the area, so that the handsome one could take care of his appearance. Despite the great improvement, after more than a month the wound was still not completely healed. We turned to you, our followers, and with our joint efforts Figaro received the proper treatment. Today, Figaro's difficulties are behind him and he is looking for his home, which will be filled with much happiness and energy. The boy has grown quite a bit while his treatment was completed, and became even fluffier and sweeter. Like any cat, he is very playful and impresses us with the acrobatic tricks he is capable of. Figaro is as cuddly as he is playful, and one of his favorite pastimes is climbing onto our shoulders to clean us.

About Figaro

What life with Figaro looks like

Figaro is a small puppy/kitten dog waiting at Four Paws Bulgaria (ЧЕТИРИ ЛАПИ) in Sofia.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

Note from the shelter: Previously had head wound requiring extensive treatment - now fully healed

Frequently asked

Adopting Figaro, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Figaro?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Four Paws Bulgaria (ЧЕТИРИ ЛАПИ) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Figaro on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Figaro if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Four Paws Bulgaria (ЧЕТИРИ ЛАПИ) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Figaro already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Figaro isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Four Paws Bulgaria (ЧЕТИРИ ЛАПИ) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Figaro and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (BG). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
