Kara was saved more than three years ago along with two other dogs. After a report from a Sofia citizen, the dogs were brought to us. All three were almost completely hairless and very scared. Kara had multiple wounds in addition to the missing coat. After a check-up at the Four Paws Foundation clinic, blood and skin tests were performed on the dog. The results showed persistent skin parasites in combination with a severe skin infection. It turned out that Kara had to be treated for months. Every four days she was bathed with a special medicated shampoo. And in addition, she took antibiotics and special medications to remove the little pests that had eaten her coat. But not long after the treatment started, it had an effect, and Kara became unrecognizable. Her beautiful brown coat with a chocolate and dark caramel color grew back.
