Adopt Figgy Pudding

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · Female · Young · 1 year

Personality:We are now ready to present our smart, cuddly, playful – Figgy Pudding! This little lady came to us through no fault of her own and has unfortunately been with us for some time. She has been through alot so far as she required cherry eye surgery whilst with us. She has unfortunately not had the best start to life so she can be a little sensitive at times. When she first came in she was very scared. She has gradually come out of her shell and is now full of beans and mayhem! She has been lucky enough to be in foster for a month and so we have a good picture of how she will be in the home. She is a lively and clever girl who would like to have a few good walks a day, some mental enrichment, a good game of tuggee/ some training and then a comfy place to snuggle up. Figgy can be left for up to 4 hours, once settled in her new home. Behaviour:Figgy is a little worried about the outside world, this is likely due to not receiving correct socialisation when she was younger. She does not bark on he walks but can struggle around dogs and needs to be kept on lead on her walks and walked in a muzzle in areas where there might be off lead dogs. It has been wonderful to see her flourish in her foster home and learn about the big wide world. Figgy is looking for an active, dedicated owner who is ready and willing to commit lots of time and energy to helping Figgy thrive in her new home. If you love staffies and high energy dogs, then Figgy could be the dog for you! Figgy has a high prey drive towards cats and wildlife so will need someone strong enough to hold onto her and committed to ongoing training. Housing:Figgy will need her own private garden. This is because sometimes she can be shy of going to the toilet on lead but is fully toilet trained. She also needs somewhere to have a good run around and a fun game of tug with her new family. She cannot be homed to the PO12 area. Children/pets:Figgy will need to be the only pet and live in a adult only household this is due to her being very bouncy and having traumatic start to life. Vet history:Figgy is fully vaccinated and up to date with flea and worm treatment, she will need to return to the centre to be spayed at the appropriate time. Figgy has had a cherry eye operation whilst in our care so please note any pre existing medical conditions will not be covered by insurance. Figgy is on Behaviour medication to help her adjust to kennels. These will need to be continued untill Figgy is totally settled in her new home. Adoption fee:The adoption fee is £220. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated. Additional information:All rented and leasehold properties will require written consent from the property owner or agent. This needs to be in place before completing an application form. If your application is successful, staff will request a copy.We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. About Figgy Pudding

What life with Figgy Pudding looks like

Figgy Pudding is a large young adult staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at RSPCA Solent Branch CIO - The Stubbington Ark in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Figgy Pudding, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Figgy Pudding?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Solent Branch CIO - The Stubbington Ark handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Figgy Pudding on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Figgy Pudding if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Solent Branch CIO - The Stubbington Ark will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Figgy Pudding already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Figgy Pudding isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Solent Branch CIO - The Stubbington Ark early rather than rehoming privately; they know Figgy Pudding and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
