Fika

Persian · Female · Young · 1 year

Meet Fika! This gorgeous ball of fur is a social bean who adores spending time with her favourite people. She loves lots of fuss and will climb straight onto your lap for a cuddle and a stroke. Fika should be fine to live wit a sensible school aged child who will spend lots of time playing with her and giving er the fuss and love she craves. She should be fine to settle into a quiet corner of the home with all her resources close by and plenty of cosy hiding places. Once settled, Fika will need outside access. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Fika, you can e-mail our rehoming team on () to register your interest. the cat you have contacted us about.

About Fika

What life with Fika looks like

Fika is a young adult persian cat waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fika, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fika?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fika on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fika if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fika already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fika isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fika and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
