adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Fine has found her people! Her story: Bistrita, Romania. Fine unfortunately did not have a beautiful past – she was likely hit by a car and left. Our Meda was contacted by a neighbor that a small dog had been sitting in the same spot for two days and wouldn't move. Meda immediately went to check and found our Fine there. She had a severely infected belly wound and a broken hind leg. Meda took her in and brought her to the clinic. Here, the mouse was thoroughly examined and treated. Now, Fine is on the road to recovery and is developing well. She has hardly any problems with her hind leg anymore and the wound has already healed beautifully. It is likely that she will not suffer any lasting damage from her broken leg. Nevertheless, her new owners should pay extra attention to her in the first period, especially when it comes to activities like climbing stairs or similar. Otherwise, Fine is a typical playful little dog who looks forward to walks in the forest, cozy snuggling evenings on the sofa, and tasty treats. She loves being stroked and enjoys playing in the garden. She never shows aggression towards other people and gets along well with her fellow animals. Fine is approximately 2-3 years old and weighs around 5 kg. At her age, she likely has most of her puberty behind her. Nevertheless, several challenges will likely await the new human-dog team. She needs people who approach her with love and patience, give her time to settle in, and forgive her occasional mishaps. A visit to dog training classes can also be a meaningful addition after a certain period of getting used to it. Leash walking, house training, and being left alone are still foreign words to Fine. She will test her limits and may possibly forget some things she has learned. But after overcoming this phase, she will undoubtedly become a wonderful companion for life. We hope very much that she can now experience the beautiful sides of life. Fine is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She brings an EU pet passport with her and can be fostered by a sweet little mouse. We would be very happy! Who will give her a loving forever home? Many thanks, Silke! You gave Fine her name.

Vielen Dank Silke! Du hast Fine Ihren Namen geschenkt.

About Fine

What life with Fine looks like

Fine is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fine, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fine?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fine on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fine if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fine already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fine isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fine and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
