Fino

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Fino comes from a state public shelter in Romania and was rescued and taken in by us. Since then, he has lived in our care and has proven to be a calm, friendly and pleasant male. In the beginning, Fino was a bit reserved. While the other dogs played together, he kept to the background and observed the situation. However, he was approachable and allowed to be touched and stroked from the beginning. Necessary handling was also possible without difficulty. Meanwhile, Fino has warmed up significantly. He is increasingly participating in the events and even starting to play with the other dogs. In dealing with his fellow dogs, he is social and unobtrusive. Conflicts with other dogs have not been observed so far, and he does not show any unusual behavior during feeding. In general, Fino is one of the quieter dogs. He does not constantly push himself to the forefront and does not show overly excited behavior. He appears balanced and pleasant to be around and enjoys the proximity to people. Fino has not yet experienced life in a German household. Therefore, he will have to learn many everyday things that are taken for granted by a family dog. Even walks and running on a leash could not be reliably assessed so far. His future people should therefore be willing to give him the necessary time and work with him step by step on these new experiences. Fino is one of those dogs that are easily overlooked because they do not draw attention to themselves loudly. However, he shows very good conditions with his calm and friendly nature to find his way in his new life with the right guidance. We wish for Fino people who give him security and orientation and offer him the opportunity to settle in and get to know life as a family dog. Fino is neutered, vaccinated, chipped, dewormed and dewormed and travels with an EU pet passport. He will be placed for a deposit of 495 euros after a positive preliminary inspection.

DE·Show original

About Fino

What life with Fino looks like

Fino is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein SpecialDogs e.V. in Germany.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fino, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fino?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein SpecialDogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fino on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fino if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein SpecialDogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Fino already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fino isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein SpecialDogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fino and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
