adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Fiona has found a new home! Your story: Unfortunately, Fiona lost her home unmerited and must once again seek her own home. We wish for people who will finally give her the safety and security she so deserves. Fiona is an absolute dream dog: She is friendly to people, well-tempered with fellow animals, and very people-oriented. She loves body contact, seeks contact with her trusted people, and enjoys closeness and affection very much. Outdoors, she can sometimes show insecurity in certain situations but is well-oriented to people and can be guided through new impressions with patience and calm. Fiona and her siblings Dea, Sarafina, and Charlie Brown were born on an abandoned farm in Romania. Their mother was a street dog but had great fortune: the farm owner cared for the little family until Larissa – one of our local animal rescuers – took over the care. Not only is her affectionate nature charming, but her appearance is also captivating: Fiona has beautiful light brown fur, white paws, and expressive amber eyes. At about 55 cm shoulder height, she is a sturdy but gentle presence. In her foster home, she has settled well, gets along excellently with the existing only dog, and shows herself to be a very pleasant, balanced companion. She still has some small insecurities, but Fiona is brave and masters her everyday life in the human world better every day. As a puppy, Fiona already had contact with cats and got along well with them. Based on her appearance, she could have parts of a herding dog or also a herdsman dog in her genes. Fiona is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated and of course brings her EU pet passport with her. Who will finally give this wonderful female dog her true forever home and show her that settling in is also possible for her? Thank you, Oliver U.! You gave Fiona and her siblings their names! A big thank you also goes to Isabel B., who took on a monthly sponsorship for Fiona. As of: 28.12. Gets along with other dogs.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 28.12.2025

About Fiona

What life with Fiona looks like

Fiona is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fiona, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fiona?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fiona on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fiona if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fiona already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fiona isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fiona and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
