Fish

Mixed Breed Cat · Male · Adult · 4 years

Fish is a beautiful boy who has come to us from a home and is now looking for his perfect forever home. He has an amazing personality and is such a lovely, gentle boy who adores people, other cats and even dogs of all sizes! In fact, Fish seems to think he is a dog himself and loves to play with them as well as snuggle up for cuddles. Fish loves spending his days exploring outdoors, but he never wanders too far from home and enjoys coming and going between his adventures and the comfort of his family. He is happiest when he can enjoy the freedom to explore before returning home for a snooze in a warm spot on the sofa, on the bed or even right on top of you! He loves his people and is always ready for a cuddle, a fuss or simply being close by. Fish will need an indoor/outdoor home where he can safely explore, ideally with some land to roam around on and no busy roads nearby. He must always have access to a window or cat flap so he can come home when he is ready for some company. His new family will need to keep him indoors for at least three weeks while he settles in and learns where home is before allowing him outside. Fish can live with sensible, cat-savvy children who won't mind him curling up on their beds or sleeping on their clothes if they leave them on the floor! He can also share his home with other cats and dogs who are happy to have another furry friend tagging along. Fish really is a special boy with so much love to give, and we would love to see him find a forever home where he can enjoy his outdoor adventures before coming home to all the cuddles and comforts he deserves.

About Fish

What life with Fish looks like

Fish is a adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fish, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fish?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fish on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fish if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fish already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fish isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fish and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
