Flora &#8211

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Flora now lives in 41541 Dormagen. All the best, Flora. Thank you, Mrs. R. At our friends at Refugio Kimba, a lively quintet is bounding their way to the hearts of all animal welfare workers. But let’s start the story from the beginning. A few weeks ago, a Spanish family found two small mixed-breed dogs on the street. Duende, who reminded them of a very agile mini mop, and his Terrier friend Patri were allowed to come home with their rescuers, from where the kind people informed the animal shelter. Right from their first meeting, our friends noticed that Patri is highly pregnant, and the animal shelter is always a bad place for that. So Duende moved into the care of our partners, while Patri stayed with her rescuers, who became her foster family by surprise but with open hearts. There, our Supermama gave birth to five healthy puppies, who are now turning 10 weeks old and are turning their foster parents’ house upside down. The boy Bobby and his sister Filou, Jenny, Pippa, and Flora have already received their first vaccinations and were well-prepared by their mother and their rescuers for the start of their lives. The adorable furballs are only waiting to reach the magical age of four months, at which point they will set off to their own families with their brand-new travel documents and big career plans. Our future heartbreakers will be a compact size when they grow up, that much is clear. The babies are, however, big discoverers, active, curious, and brave. They already know other dogs and children and life in the house. If you can give a funny world-conquering spirit a home, if you have lots of time and a lot of humor, if you are creative and not necessarily attached to your shoes, then you are well-prepared to give one of our promising talents the ticket to great happiness.

Flora lebt jetzt in 41541 Dormagen. Alles Gute, Flora.

About Flora &#8211

What life with Flora &#8211 looks like

Flora &#8211 is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Flora &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Flora &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Flora &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Flora &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Flora &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Flora &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Flora &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
