Donny

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Donny is a sweet boy who is hoping someone will see his potential. He's been learning lots of new things like learning to wear his muzzle on his walkies, which is looks very fabulous in! His new family will need to be committed to building a relationship with him, which may take some time given his sensitive nature. With patience and guidance we can't wait to see him blossom into a wonderful member of the family. Donny is a handsome boy who came into our care with little know about his past. He's hoping to find patient adult only adopters who can help him navigate the world and blossom in confidence. He's a clever boy and is learning lots of new things with the help of his favourite thing... FOOD! We're sure this will come in handy when it comes to teaching his new things like learning how to settle when home alone. Donny will need a garden of his own and it's important he has a safe space to retreat to when he's feeling overwhelmed. He would do best in a quiet home, with minimal visitors as he can find meeting new people a little scary. Donny is a real social butterfly and LOVES to play with his doggy friends, whilst not essential it would likely benefit him to live with another dog in his new home.

About Donny

What life with Donny looks like

Donny is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Dogs Trust Kenilworth in Kenilworth.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Requires muzzle when out on walks, needs adults-only home with minimal visitors, requires multiple pre-adoption visits

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Donny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Donny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Kenilworth handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Donny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Donny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Kenilworth will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Donny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Donny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Kenilworth early rather than rehoming privately; they know Donny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
