Luna

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

I’m a gentle, sensitive girl looking for a quiet little corner of the world to finally call home. Life can feel a bit overwhelming at times, so I need kind, patient humans who understand that trust takes time. New people can make me nervous at first, but if you let me move at my own pace, you’ll soon see my loving personality shine through. Once I know I’m safe, I absolutely adore cuddles and will happily lean in for comfort and affection from my favourite people. I love getting out for walks and little adventures, whether it’s a peaceful woodland stroll or simply having a good sniff around. I’m also a big fan of toys and enjoy carrying them around, playing games, and sharing fun moments with the people I love. I’m currently on the larger side, so my exercise will need to be built up gradually as I settle into my new home. A large, secure garden where I can enjoy playtime and sunny afternoons would be a dream come true. I’m looking for a calm home with a low visitor load where I can relax and continue building my confidence. When settled, I should be okay being left for up to two hours. I may be able to live with another dog, pending a successful meet at the centre and careful introductions. I could also potentially live with children aged 14 and over, pending a successful meet. More than anything, I’m searching for someone who can see past my worries and help me blossom into the happy, confident girl I know I can be. If you can offer me patience, kindness, and a peaceful home, I promise I’ll give you my whole heart in return.

About Luna

What life with Luna looks like

Luna is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Jerry Green Dog Rescue in Lincoln.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Jerry Green Dog Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Jerry Green Dog Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Luna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Jerry Green Dog Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
