Foxi

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

Foxi is a sweet, friendly female dog about 48 cm tall, born in 2022. She is one of those dogs that you immediately fall in love with: gentle in expression, attentive, with a calm, refined nature. Initially, she shows a slight shyness, but she quickly loses it once she understands that you mean well. Then she actively seeks closeness, makes contact on her own and shows her warm, approachable nature. Foxi is easy-going and social in her interactions. She gets along well with other dogs, living easily in the group at the shelter and showing balanced behavior. She is friendly and open to people, without ever being pushy. She wants to please, likes to orient herself and quickly gains trust if you give her some time. We are looking for a home or foster family for Foxi that will offer her security, peace and a reliable daily routine. People who are looking for a gentle, loyal companion and want to show her that she finally belongs. Whoever gives Foxi this chance will get a dog that will cling to them, allow closeness and show more and more every day how much heart she has. Foxi is spayed and will be vaccinated, chipped and placed with a protection contract after a positive preliminary check. General note on our protégés: Our dogs in Romania are regularly visited so we can reassess their behavior and development. These personal impressions help us very much to convey a good picture of each individual dog. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that a dog in a new environment - with new people, new routines and new impressions - can also behave differently. This is normal and is part of any change process. Many dogs even open up faster at home and show sides that were not visible at the shelter. Our assessments are based on current observations, but they are not a guarantee for every behavior in the new environment. They should provide guidance and show how the dog presents himself at the shelter - and what potential he has. We are convinced: with patience, understanding and a loving environment, every dog can find his way and develop positively.

About Foxi

What life with Foxi looks like

Foxi is an adult mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Foxi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Foxi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Foxi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Foxi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Foxi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Foxi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Foxi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
