Foxterrier „Geralt vom Teufelsstein „

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Geralt from Teufelsstein male dog (neutered, microchipped, well-groomed) Taken in: 14.02.2021 JP: 02.04.2022 (bulletproof, spl., sl.) Teufelsstein Enclosure Since 11/2025 Immenstedter Straße 32 We took Geralt in at a time when my wife was working 100% from home and I was independent. We actively pursued the hunting training of the dog according to his nature, disposition, and breeding until October 2022. Unfortunately, our living circumstances have changed significantly, and we can no longer meet Geralt's needs appropriately. We did not have him vaccinated because his desire to hunt was so strong that we did not want to support it. We were unable to have the GP/WGP done as we could not convey the necessary calm to him. We then discontinued the hunting training and tried to provide the missing calm to the dog. He has a very restless nature. We sought advice from various veterinarians and dog trainers. Looking back, I should have accepted earlier that we were not the right environment for Geralt. But who wants to give up a dog they have had for years. He grew up in the house, knows living with a dog and a child, and is not a Teufelsstein Enclosure dog. He is attentive, highly trainable, has a tremendous work ethic but has a low frustration tolerance. He is not aggressive, he does not bite, and he is more avoidant with other dogs. However, if he feels harassed, he will defend himself loudly. He needs a consistent and patient handler who can keep him adequately occupied. When we made contact with the Hundertpfotenhotel through our last trainer (Annett Reinholt, known for working with problem dogs in Hamburg), and the possibility arose to place Geralt there, we had to do so. Since then, he has been in the pension, where they are trying to socialize him and work with him physiotherapeutically. Personally, I am not sure if this is the right path for Geralt. The goal of the pension and Annett is to exclusively place Geralt in non-hunting hands.

Weitere Informationen: Jagdhunde in Not e.V Kornelia Ritter oder ,

Frequently asked

Adopting Foxterrier „Geralt vom Teufelsstein „, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Foxterrier „Geralt vom Teufelsstein „?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Jagdhunde in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Foxterrier „Geralt vom Teufelsstein „ on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Foxterrier „Geralt vom Teufelsstein „ if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Jagdhunde in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Foxterrier „Geralt vom Teufelsstein „ already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Foxterrier „Geralt vom Teufelsstein „ isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Jagdhunde in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Foxterrier „Geralt vom Teufelsstein „ and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
