Adopt Frank

Male · Adult · 4 years

FRANK KIDDERMINSTER, WEST MIDLANDS The adoption fee for Frank is £350 4 years old Male, silver dapple, smooth mini (6 kg) Neutered Handsome Frank is a friendly boy who loves people but who struggles to be on his own, particularly after two very yappy dogs moved next door… His family love him dearly but recognise his distress when left is getting worse and feel he would be happier without noisy next-door neighbours and probably with a dog-friend or two. Frank is a smart and loving dog who loves to play. He will thrive in a calm and structured environment and is an affectionate little dog who will be an amazing pet. At the moment, he does not cope well with being left on his own and will bark, scratch at doors and have accidents. His owner feels this has been made worse by the environment he is currently in, as he does not do this when at a home-boarder. However, his new family will need to be prepared to help him learn that being left on his own is OK – The Red Foundation will provide behaviourist back-up if needed. Frank is nervous outside the home and will bark at the beginning. He does calm down, but he needs to learn that a walk is a fun event to be looked forward to. He is excited to see other dogs and likes to play with them, once he’s got to know them. Frank is in excellent health and currently lives with a cat that he likes to play with and young children. He is toilet trained and good in the car. He was crate trained as a pup but now prefers to sleep in his owner’s bed at night. About Frank

What life with Frank looks like

Frank is a adult dog waiting at The Red Foundation in Pentlow Street.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Frank, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Frank?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Red Foundation handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Frank on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Frank if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — The Red Foundation will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Frank already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Frank isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Red Foundation early rather than rehoming privately; they know Frank and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
