Franklin

Husky · Male · Senior · 9 years

Franklin - waiting for a real home 🐾❤️ Franklin is a 12-year-old, cheerful husky-type dog who, despite a difficult past, still impresses with his good spirits and love for humans. He spent his entire life on a chain. 😔 Finally, he was taken away and given a chance at a better life. Now the most important stage is ahead of him - finding a person who will show him what a real home, safety and love are. Franklin loves walks, human presence and time spent together. He is a cheerful dog who, despite 12 years, still has a lot of positive energy and zest for life. He will certainly greatly appreciate every moment spent by his caregiver's side. ❤️ In interactions with other dogs, Franklin is picky and does not get along with every dog, so it's best if there is only one dog in the new home. This will allow him to calmly find his way in the new reality and enjoy the closeness of a human. After so many years spent on a chain, Franklin deserves something he may never have had before - his own bed, a quiet home, regular walks, a loving person and a sense of being safe. Will someone give this wonderful senior a home for the rest of his life? 🐾❤️

Franklin – czeka na prawdziwy dom 🐾❤️ Franklin to 12-letni, radosny psiak w typie husky, który mimo trudnej przeszłości wciąż zachwyca swoją pogodą ducha i miłością do człowieka. Całe swoje życie spędził na łańcuchu. 😔 W końcu został odebrany i dostał szansę na lepsze życie. Teraz przed nim najważniejszy etap – znalezienie człowieka, który pokaże mu, czym naprawdę jest dom, bezpieczeństwo i miłość. Franklin uwielbia spacery, obecność człowieka i wspólnie spędzany czas. 🐾❤️

About Franklin

What life with Franklin looks like

Franklin is a large senior husky dog waiting at OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Starogardzie Gdańskim in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Frequently asked

Adopting Franklin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Franklin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Starogardzie Gdańskim handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Franklin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Franklin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Starogardzie Gdańskim will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Franklin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Franklin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Starogardzie Gdańskim early rather than rehoming privately; they know Franklin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
