Meet Freddie!press to zoompress to zoompress to zoompress to zoom1/3 Name: Freddie Gender: Male Age: 3 Years Breed: Frenchie Size: Medium Freddie is gorgeous three year old French Bulldog looking for a permanent home, or a foster-to-adopt home, with someone who can offer him the stability, patience and understanding he needs to thrive. We believe Freddie may have experienced significant trauma early in life. As a result, he can feel anxious in unfamiliar situations, is easily startled and finds being left alone particularly distressing. He needs time to build confidence and learn that he is safe. Once Freddie trusts someone, his affectionate nature begins to shine through. He forms strong bonds, enjoys human companionship and is a loving, loyal little dog who simply wants to feel secure. Freddie would be best suited to a quiet, adult-only home with no other pets. His ideal adopter will be able to spend plenty of time with him, particularly in the early stages, and will understand that helping him adjust will require patience, consistency and compassion. He is not looking for someone to "fix" him, but rather someone willing to support him as he learns to feel safe and settled in a home environment. As a One Wisher, Freddie will continue to receive support from our behavioural team, and we will work closely with his adopter or foster-to-adopt family to help him progress, including addressing his fears around being left alone. Freddie has already overcome a great deal in his young life and deserves the opportunity to experience the security, love and commitment that every dog should know. In the right home, he has the potential to blossom into a wonderful companion. If you feel you could offer Freddie the calm, understanding home he needs, please contact Jenna at or complete our adopter enquiry form below. Freddie's ideal home Children: Cannot live with children Other dogs: Cannot live with other dogs Other pets: Cannot live with cats and small furriesApply to adopt

About Freddie

What life with Freddie looks like

Freddie is a medium-sized young adult french bulldog dog waiting at One Wish Dog Foundation in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Freddie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Freddie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. One Wish Dog Foundation handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Freddie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Freddie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — One Wish Dog Foundation will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Freddie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Freddie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with One Wish Dog Foundation early rather than rehoming privately; they know Freddie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
