Freya F

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

Profile Age: approx. born 2017 Sex: female neutered: yes Character: shy Size: approx. 50 cm At the Shelter since: July 2021 Relatives: her puppies Whoopi & Dobby, (Fluffball, Hanna and Flocke – already adopted out) Special Features: short tail Hey you! Yes, you! I see you! And hopefully you can see me too?! Why do I have my eyes so wide open? Because until now I had to watch over my puppies. Now I’m looking for someone who will take care of me and give me the love I’ve given and still give to my babies. The little rascals have grown into adult dogs and stand on their own paws now. I am now looking for my two-legged friends who will give me a cozy home and spend time with me. But maybe I should tell you a bit more about myself first. I am not one of those brave dogs who happily run up to you. On the contrary, when someone approaches me, I initially retreat and try to avoid you. I need a lot of time to build trust, but that would surely be easier at home than here in the loud shelter where nobody really has time for us. So it would be great if I could soon pack my little suitcases and make my way to you. I would be absolutely thrilled if I could unpack them there with you! If you are interested in Freya F, please fill out our inquiry form or send us an email at or a message via Facebook. Freya F is ready to go and can travel to Germany with the next transport. Our dogs travel legally with Traces. Traces refers to the database system used to monitor all pet transportation within the EU. The dogs travel vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and dewormed, and they possess an EU passport. Additionally, a quick test for the following Mediterranean diseases is conducted on dogs over 12 months before travel arrangements: Lyme disease, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Heartworm and Leishmaniasis. The sponsorship for Freya F has been taken over by Heike F. and thus ensures a filled food bowl. Many thanks on behalf of the dogs!

About Freya F

What life with Freya F looks like

Freya F is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Freya F, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Freya F?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Freya F on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Freya F if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Freya F already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Freya F isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Freya F and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
