Freya

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Freya comes from our Cornetu rescue of April 2025, and ever since then she has carried a quiet hope inside her that her life may finally begin. At about 51 cm tall and with her young age (born approx. 2023), she is a female dog full of heart, warmth and joy for life. She is affectionate, loving, and shows the typical liveliness of a young dog who wants to explore the world, but not from behind bars. Recently, this beautiful dog has been living at the shelter together with her canine buddy Linus, with whom she gets along without any problems. There, Freya shows every day how sociable, friendly and open she is. But no matter how hard she tries, one thing remains clear: her precious youth should not be spent in a kennel. Freya needs people who will give her a home or a foster placement, a place where she can arrive, learn, be loved, and finally live the life she deserves. She brings everything one could wish for: a gentle nature, an open heart, and the willingness to bond with her people. Who will fall in love with this wonderful dog and show her that her place is not behind bars, but right in the middle of life? Freya will be placed by the animal welfare association Vierbeiner in Not e.V. after a positive preliminary check, vaccinated and microchipped. Note regarding our animals: Our dogs in Romania are visited regularly so that we can continually reassess their behavior and development. These personal impressions help us greatly in conveying as accurate a picture as possible of each individual dog. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that a dog may show a different side in a new environment, with new people, new routines and new impressions. This is completely normal and part of every process of change. Many dogs even open up more quickly in a home and show sides that were not visible at the shelter. Our assessments are therefore based on current observations, but they are not a guarantee of any particular behavior in a new environment. They are meant to offer guidance and show how the dog presents itself at the shelter, and what potential lies within her. We are convinced that with patience, understanding and a loving environment, every dog can find its way and continue to develop positively.

About Freya

What life with Freya looks like

Freya is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Freya, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Freya?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Freya on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Freya if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Freya already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Freya isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Freya and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
