Sie sucht ein artgerechtes Zuhause in Einzelhaltung. Für die große Hamsterdame, sollte das Gehege eine Grundfläche von mindestens 1,5 – 2 m² bieten. Außerdem sind eine ausreichend hohe Einstreu zum Graben, mehrere Versteckmöglichkeiten sowie ein geeignetes großes Laufrad Voraussetzung.
