Adopt FRUZIA

Mixed Breed · Male

When she came to us, it was hard to look at her and think about how long she lived and suffered like that - bald, with terrible skin. Medicinal shampoos, properly chosen hypoallergenic food, and the care we surrounded our Fruzia with made her coat shine again - she just needs to be brushed! FRUZIA is a bit scared of strangers at first, tries to scare them by barking, as if to drive them away, but the sight of her hiding under the table makes you think about why she feels she must scare them away. But there's a hook for her - she's a huge glutton, if you have food, then you're cool 😉 Once she gets to know someone, she can be a loving hugging companion, she willingly comes to us and walks around the legs of the staff, it's hard not to fall in love with her. FRUZIA is now staying with other dogs and cats, so she can easily look for a home where there are already furry friends.

About FRUZIA

What life with FRUZIA looks like

FRUZIA is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Gnieźnie in Gniezno.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting FRUZIA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about FRUZIA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Gnieźnie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw FRUZIA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt FRUZIA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Gnieźnie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is FRUZIA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if FRUZIA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Gnieźnie early rather than rehoming privately; they know FRUZIA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
