FRUZIA

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 10 years

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, approximately 9-10 years old Appearance: red-white.Temperament: gentle, calm, homely.Health: very ill, anemia, spleen removed.Location: temporary home, Wola Chodkowska.Adoption contact: in the process.Fruzia is a 9-year-old female Cavalier who came to us along with 6 other Cavaliers. We are introducing her last because we have been fighting with Fruzia's many illnesses for a long time, and Fruzia has been very well cared for. But let's start from the beginning...Fruzia immediately went to a temporary home with Sylwia and Mariusz, the adoptive family of Forest and Zumka (also caregivers for Zośka and Kendy). She entered this dog-human family like butter. She decided to be a full-fledged member of the pack from day one. The pack also fully accepted Fruzin's gentleness. Fruzia has been treated by specialists (and her list of illnesses is extremely long), sleeps in a bed, has her own garden, personal people to carry her up the stairs, has her own wheelchair, which is taken to the river if her legs are too tired, has her daily routine completely subordinated to her needs. Fruzia was the most neglected health-wise female dog from this action, next to Abi. Over the past two months, doctors have been fighting anemia, bacteria in the bladder (including the nasty e-coli), removed her spleen which was on the verge of breaking, and sterilized her. Fruzia is being kept under the watchful eye of a neurologist, dentist, nephrologist, and an orthopedist is waiting for her. But caregivers cannot serve her everything at once, so they are working successively, one by one. Fruzia is flourishing every day. And we sincerely hope that she will enjoy life to the fullest, without pain, surrounded by caring hands and love from Sylwia and Mariusz. Of course, Fruzia is not looking for a home because once the treatment is over, we will sign adoption papers.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, wiek ok. 9-10 lat Wygląd: rudo-biała.Charakter: delikatna, spokojna, domowa.Zdrowie: bardzo pochorowana, anemia, usunięta śledziona.Miejsce pobytu: dom tymczasowy, Wola Chodkowska. Kontakt w sprawie adopcji: w trakcie adopcji. Fruzia trafiła do raju.

About FRUZIA

What life with FRUZIA looks like

FRUZIA is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja AST (Adoptuj Staffa i Teriera) in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting FRUZIA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about FRUZIA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja AST (Adoptuj Staffa i Teriera) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw FRUZIA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt FRUZIA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja AST (Adoptuj Staffa i Teriera) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is FRUZIA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if FRUZIA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja AST (Adoptuj Staffa i Teriera) early rather than rehoming privately; they know FRUZIA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
