adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process The beautiful Futura with the black mask is searching for her own home. Futura gets along well with other dogs. She is initially a bit shy but after some time she can be held and enjoys being stroked, even though she is still a bit reserved. Futura is a true beauty and catches the eye immediately. She has beautiful, soft, and long light beige fur with a black facial mask that is simply breathtaking. She also has a very gentle and sensitive nature, always appearing very unobtrusive and rather shy. Futura has already made great progress; she can put on her safety harness and be led on a leash. Futura has a shoulder height of about 60 cm and a very slender figure. We cannot rule out that Futura has some hound characteristics. Therefore, we are looking for an experienced home that already has experience with these characteristics or is willing to deal with them and above all provides the optimal conditions. Additionally, Futura is looking for people who are not expecting anything from her at first and show her how a normal dog life works. She is still a young female dog, approximately 1.5 years old, and has to learn a lot, such as living with people in a household, which Futura is not familiar with because she lives in a shelter outdoors. She is looking forward to her new life with beautiful nature walks, many cuddle hours, and also a visit to the dog training class. It is important to support the fosterling with love and a lot of patience. With an education based on positive reinforcement, the foundation is laid for a good bond and deep trust. Understanding and care are particularly important in this phase. So, Futura will also develop into a wonderful everyday companion. Futura is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas and has her EU pet passport in her luggage. She will, after a positive adoption, you give your heart to Futura?

Stand: 06.03.2025

About Futura

What life with Futura looks like

Futura is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Futura, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Futura?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Futura on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Futura if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Futura already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Futura isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Futura and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
