Asiel Tenerife: Input 20 juni 2026: Gabo kwam bij ons via een ander asiel. Dit asiel gingen ze sluiten en er werd plek gezocht voor hun hondjes. Ons team ging ter plekke kijken en koos de meest "urgente" en gevoelige kwetsbare hondjes uit. Daar zat deze onzichtbare kanjer tussen die al veel te lang op zijn kans wachtte en nu ook zijn enige bekende en vertrouwde plekje zou zien verdwijnen.Gabo is heel grappig nieuwsgierig, toch is alles nieuw en spannend voor hem. Dit ventje heeft een zacht karakter maar ook een voorzichtig ondeugend en speels karakter. Hij is zeker niet lomp en zal zich nooit op de voorgrond durven pushen maar doet toch zijn uitstekende best om in beeld te zijn en een snoepje of aai te scoren bij ons. We zien dat Gabo zich duidelijk nog inhoud en denken dat hij op een veilige plek die hij eigen kan noemen heel snel zal opbloeien tot een heel leuk en vrolijk ventje dat je op de voet zal volgen, want ondanks zijn onwennigheid merk je dat hij graag bij je is, graag leert en dit ook heel leuk vindt. In het asiel hebben we hem in deze 3 maanden al enorm zien groeien, dat is zo dankbaar om te zien! Gabo is nog steeds voorzichtig, afwachtend en een beetje onzeker, maar laat goed zien dat hij dankbaar is voor onze aandacht, de wandelingen, koekjes en luxes die hij tot kort amper had. Hij heeft een beetje tijd nodig maar vooral rust en het gevoel dat hij nu dan eindelijk op zijn plek en veilig is om zijn onzekerheid verder achter hem te laten. Geef hem eens ongelijk, deze arme schat wacht al veel te lang achter tralies op koude plekken. Van jager naar asiel, naar nu een iets beter asiel met fijne wandelingen en meer aandacht maar toch heeft deze lieverd een thuis nodig en vooral een eigen mens nodig om te groeien en durven los te komen om echte te gaan genieten.Toen we Gabo meenamen had hij twee podenco maatjes, Pablo en Malu, die mochten ook meteen mee. Ook bij ons zitten ze voorlopig nog samen. Inmiddels zijn ze al 3 maanden bij ons en ze doen het super. Gabo groeit met de dag en zijn besmettelijke vrolijkheid maakt ons elke dag weer blij als we gaan schoonmaken of wandelen. De buiten wandelingen, die vindt Gabo helemaal geweldig en ook dan zien we weer een en al dankbaarheid. En hier een daar een beetje gekkigheid zelfs! Ook het los lopen en kunnen rennen in de losloopweide is een hoogte punt van de week geworden voor hem, het is heel mooi om te zien hoe hij dan geniet en hoe hij haast lijkt te "groeien", zo mooi, elegant en statisch dat hij dan kan rondrennen en snuffelen, prachtig!Het is een schat van een hond met een geweldig leuk en zacht karakter. We weten zeker dat hij een heel trouw en lief maatje gaat worden voor diegene die hart en huis voor hem opent.
