Adopt Gazik

Mixed Breed · Male

Meet Gazik - a lovely, energetic and loving dog who is again looking for his permanent home after several adoption attempts. Emotions sometimes take over him - when he sees a person, he sometimes jumps and nips excitedly. He loves people, regardless of whether he knows them for a while or longer - he immediately becomes their most loyal fan. Walks are a big adventure for him, he explores the world with enthusiasm, although he can pull on the leash. With the right approach, however, he can walk nicely. He gets along well with many other dogs, but in stressful situations, he can get involved in fights. Gazik will best find himself in a home without children, with a caregiver ready to spend time and work on his emotions. It would be ideal in a quiet neighborhood, although an apartment in a block won't be a problem if his future caregiver likes physical activity. At the shelter, he keeps his area clean, although he used to break out of the kennel, now he handles being locked up in this safe place well. Gazik knows basic commands and loves sniffing toys and lick mats. Gazik can stay alone at home, and his activity is a combination of energetic walks and snuggling at home. Unfortunately, he doesn't get along with cats, so he needs a home without these furry companions. This is a dog that needs a stable caregiver with experience who will help him overcome fears and manage his emotions. If you are looking for a loyal, energetic companion, Gazik may be the one! Gazik is waiting for his happiness at the shelter in Plock. — METADATA — Age: 09/2020 Gender: male Size: about 11 kilograms Activity: high Neutering: yes Chip: yes Vaccinations:

About Gazik

What life with Gazik looks like

Gazik is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gazik, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gazik?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gazik on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gazik if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Gazik already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gazik isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gazik and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
