Adopt Brenda

Mixed Breed · Female

Brenda - loving dog Status: for adoption At first she was shy, a bit reserved, but now? She finally opened her heart and can't stop being petted! She happily returns love, lies next to a person and literally feels euphoria at the sight of her caregiver coming home. But don't be fooled - she still keeps her distance from strangers. At first she will run away, but soon curiosity takes over and she starts watching from the side. And when she feels more confident, she will approach the stranger and... sniff him 🙂 As for other dogs, it's clear that Brenda already has considerable social skills - she can play with Kika, and if she wants to rest, she just ignores her. Outside? Distance from barking dogs, but she can bark back at them 😉 With another dog in the house, she is much more confident and opens up to people. Brenda sometimes feels uncertain in the city noise, but in nature she is a true master of walks. She opens up to the world, briskly marching through parks or forests, sniffing left and right. She has no issues with the car - if she doesn't immediately try to perform an escape operation, she travels very politely. She has met children of various ages, but rather than seeking contact with them, she tended to avoid them. During baths, although she was a bit scared, she showed no aggression. And once the bath was over, Brenda went into a frenzy - rubbing against everything she came across. It's worth adding that Brenda can feel uncomfortable when alone, so she is currently learning to be left alone. And what about her intelligence? Brenda may not wear glasses, but she probably already knows what "sit" and "lie down" mean - she has started responding to commands. Who knows, maybe soon she'll start cleaning up her toys! 😉 —- DOG'S PROFILE —- 🧮 Year of birth: 04/2022 🚻 Sex: female 🐾 Size: small up to 10kg 🏀 Activity: medium ❤️ spayed: yes ℹ️ Chip: yes 💉 Vaccinations: yes ✅ dog is under the care of the Tricity branch of the Foundation for Puppies Judyta ✅ dog is currently in a foster home in the Tricity area ✅ Adoption requirement: completing the questionnaire, pre-adoption visit and signing the adoption agreement ✅ LINK TO QUESTIONNAIRE:

About Brenda

What life with Brenda looks like

Brenda is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Brenda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Brenda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Brenda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Brenda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Brenda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Brenda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Brenda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
