Adopt Gemma

Border Collie · Female · Young · 1 year

Gemma came into our care having been found as a stray so we have very little background information on her. We have found her to be a friendly girl who enjoys affection on her own terms and likes the company of people and dogs. She can be anxious at times if approached too quickly and has been worried by some people so would be best to have minimal visitors to the home initially and for any introductions to new people to be taken at a pace she is comfortable with. Once settled in her new home, leaving hours could be built up. Home requirements: Gemma is a beautiful one year old Collie looking for a fairly active family of her own. She would like to be the only dog in the home but could socialise with doggy friends on walks - though she is more interested in exploring her surroundings than playing. Gemma is a friendly girl and could join a home with children of Secondary School Age and older who appreciate she prefers a fuss on her own terms. Gemma will need her own secure garden to help her settle into her new home and help her with training such as recall and learning to walk on a loose lead as she can be strong on lead when wanting to sniff something! Gemma may car chase so would prefer a rural home away from busy roads. Available at Snetterton (Norfolk), Snetterton
