Adopt Geõrgios

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Location: Romania, Orastie Gender: male, neutered Born: May 2025 Personality: social towards other animals, no single housing! Georgios is a friendly, open tomcat Disability: none Hello everyone out there, I'm Georgios and I'm looking for a home! I've been through a lot and it almost didn't end well for me. I was born on the street and as a small kitten I got very sick, I felt worse and worse and had fluid accumulation in my abdominal cavity. Someone took me to the vet. The vet realized I had FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) and there was indeed a chance to save me. However, the treatment is quite expensive. The vet then called animal rescuer Manuela and asked if she would be willing to take me and start the rescue attempt. She immediately agreed and took me in. Then followed a three-month treatment with veterinary check-ups. We fought together, Manuela and I. It wasn't easy, but it was worth it. I'm alive and I successfully defeated the disease FIP with Manuela's help. I'm so grateful to her! Now I'm feeling really good again, I play and run around and it's time for me to find a real home. A loving home where I can stay forever! I get along very well with other cats, I'm social and therefore I definitely don't want to be kept alone. If you don't have a suitable cat yet, I can bring a friend or a girlfriend from my foster home. I would like to move into an apartment suitable living space, because I feel very comfortable indoors. I already had my first vaccinations against feline colds and leukemia and when I travel to your place I will also have a microchip, a rabies vaccination and an EU pet passport. Of course I will travel neutered to you. I would be happy if you would contact me! Then I could soon start the journey to you. Until then!. This animal is microchipped. This cat is to be kept indoors only.

About Geõrgios

What life with Geõrgios looks like

Geõrgios is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Seelenkatzen e.V. in Barsinghausen.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Geõrgios, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Geõrgios?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelenkatzen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Geõrgios on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Geõrgios if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelenkatzen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Geõrgios already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Geõrgios isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelenkatzen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Geõrgios and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
