Geppetto

In March 2023, the animal welfare workers from Puntanimals found three young puppies wandering alone, hungry, and very sadly through the streets of Huelva. From these little strays, wonderful, large dogs have become. Geppetto now weighs around 30 kilograms and, at 14 months old (as of July 2023), it might still have a bit of growth left. Our charming little Bollerkopf certainly has some Mastin Espanol genes, but its shoulder height and relatively light weight also show the influence of smaller breeds (but whether it was a Podenco or a Labrador, or both, that contributed to Geppetto's gene pool, lies in the realm of riddles and divination). Geppetto is definitely a very handsome mixed breed, but he impresses not only with his appearance. The friendly, reserved male dog, of course, has yet to have a home in the classical sense; he has survived on the streets and his familiar environment is the animal shelter, but Geppetto is not only young enough to learn how to behave in a house in a short time, he also has clear preferences for soft lying places, cushions, and blankets, and he loves to lie next to familiar people and be spoiled. Even though the little gentleman can be a bit shy at first when meeting new people, he shows openness and readiness to form friendships if given the opportunity to do so at his own pace. For Geppetto, we are looking for people who can take the time to get to know him, who have the space and time, ideally also a garden, that Geppetto can at least use at the beginning. But even later, our cuddly bear will surely be a dog who enjoys lying outside and watching over it – for that is what the herding dog is meant for and finds its fulfillment in. Geppetto also goes on walks very willingly and explores the world with curiosity, but his passion is to play the "Bather," keeping everything in sight but from a comfortable position… If you are looking for a dog who can confidently join you as a counterpart, if you do not expect your dog to be perfectly trained, and if you are ready to be a true team player for your four-legged friend, if you have patience and a sense of humor, and know that a herding dog and its mixes, beyond the final cuddle factor, also bring a lot of responsibility, then we are looking forward to hearing from you with Geppetto!

Im März 2023 fanden die Tierschützer von Puntanimals drei Junghunde, die allein, hungrig und sehr traurig durch die Straßen von Huelva wanderten. Aus den kleinen Tramps sind wunderhübsche, große Hunde geworden. Geppetto wiegt mittlerweile 30 Kilogramm und mit seinen 14 Monaten (Stand 07/2023) kann es durchaus sein, dass er noch ein bisschen wächst. Unser liebenswerter Bollerkopf hat sicherlich einige Gene des Mastin Espanol, aber seine Schulterhöhe und das relativ geringe Gewicht zeigen auch deutlich den Einfluss kleinerer Rassen (aber ob es nun ein Podenco oder ein Labrador – oder beides – war, der seinen Teil zu Geppettos Genpool beigetragen hat, liegt im Bereich des Rätselratens und der Wahrsagerei). Geppetto ist auf jeden Fall ein sehr hübscher Mischling, der aber nicht nur durch sein Äußeres überzeugt. Der freundliche, zurückhaltende Rüde kennt natürlich noch kein Zuhause im klassischen Sinn, er hat auf der Straße überlebt und seine gewohnte Umgebung ist das Tierheim, aber Geppetto ist nicht nur jung genug, um in kürzester Zeit zu lernen, wie man sich im Haus verhält, er hat auch schon ganz deutliche Vorlieben für weiche Liegeplätze, Kissen, Decken und er liebt es, neben ihm bekannten Menschen zu liegen und sich verwöhnen zu lassen. Auch wenn der kleine Gentleman am Anfang immer etwas schüchtern ist, wenn er neue Menschen kennenlernt, zeigt er sich doch aufgeschlossen und bereit, Freundschaften zu schließen, wenn er das in seinem eigenen Tempo tun darf. Für Geppetto suchen wir Menschen, die ihm Zeit lassen können und wollen, richtig anzukommen, die Platz und Zeit haben, im besten Fall auch einen Garten, den Geppetto zumindest zu Beginn frei nutzen kann. Aber auch später wird unser Kuschelbärchen sicher ein Hund sein, der es genießt, draußen zu liegen und zu wachen – dafür ist der Herdenschutzhund gedacht und findet darin auch seine Erfüllung. Geppetto geht auch sehr gerne spazieren und erkundet mit Neugierde die Welt, aber seine Leidenschaft ist es, den „Bademeister“ zu spielen, alles im Blick, aber aus einer bequemen Position … Wenn Sie einen Hund suchen, der sich Ihnen souverän als Gegenüber anschließt, wenn Sie nicht erwarten, dass Ihr Hund sich perfekt dressieren lässt und Sie bereit sind, Ihrem Vierbeiner ein echter Teamplayer zu sein, wenn Sie Geduld und Humor haben und wissen, dass ein Herdenschutzhund und seine Mischlinge neben dem Endstufen-Kuschelfaktor auch viel Verantwortung mit sich bringen, dann freuen wir uns mit Geppetto darauf, ganz bald von Ihnen zu hören!
