Giacomo was dropped off at our shelter in a very poor physical condition as a found dog. He is a young Kangal mix with a good portion of confidence and solid strength. As with all herding dog mixes, an extremely experienced home with a large property and breed-appropriate stimulation is sought for Giacomo. At first, Giacomo was not particularly cooperative, but over time the ice has been broken and his trusted people accept him and form a close bond with him, seeking and enjoying cuddles from them. However, absolute consistency and calm handling are required. His people must bring strong leadership qualities and confidently face him. Firmness and secure leadership are equally important, because Giacomo knows how to use his 50 kg. Generally, he is a quiet walker, but when he encounters strangers or other animals, he can also bark. As a herding dog mix, Giacomo brings independence and a watchful eye, always keeping his surroundings in his sights. His new home should provide him with more than knowledge of handling herding dogs, including a large, fenced-in yard and breed-appropriate stimulation. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

Giacomo wurde in einer sehr schlechten körperlichen Verfassung als Fundhund im Tierheim abgegeben. Er ist ein junger Kangalmischling mit einer guten Portion Selbstbewusstsein und ordentlich Kraft. Wie für alle Herdenschutzhunde ist auch für Giacomo ein sehr erfahrenes Zuhause gesucht mit einem großen Grundstück und rassengerechter Auslastung. Anfang zeigte sich Giacomo nicht besonders kooperativ, doch mit der Zeit ist das Eis gebrochen und seine Bezugspersonen akzeptiert er und baut zu ihnen eine enge Bindung auf, sucht und genießt auch Streicheleinheiten von ihnen. Vorausgesetzt ist jedoch absolute Konsequenz und Ruhe im Umgang mit ihm. Seine Menschen müssen ausgeprägte Führungsqualitäten mitbringen und ihm souverän entgegentreten. Standfestigkeit und sichere Führung sind ebenso wichtig, denn Giacomo weiß seine 50 kg durchaus einzusetzen. Grundsätzlich ist er ein ruhiger Spaziergänger, begegnet er jedoch fremden Menschen oder anderen Tieren, kann er auch pöbeln. Als Herdenschutzhund-Mischling bringt Giacomo Eigenständigkeit und Unabhängigkeit mit, ebenso hat er ein wachsames Auge und sein Umfeld stets im Blick.
