Gina

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 10 months

Gina (born 12/2025) is a clever, lively, and affectionate young female dog who learns quickly and is developing into a wonderful companion. With her people she is loving and attached, and she enjoys cuddling together. At the same time, she is in the middle of adolescence and accordingly likes to test which rules apply. Her people should therefore approach her with loving consistency, clear structures, and a good measure of humor. Gina is initially reserved with unfamiliar people. She observes new individuals from a safe distance first and needs a moment before she gains trust. Once she has trust, her cheerful and charmingly cheeky side comes to the fore. Then she loves to cuddle with her people, snuggles up close, and gives out her very special "love nibbles" and kisses. When meeting unfamiliar dogs, she currently still needs support and clear, confident leadership. Gentle muzzle training is currently being built up. Gina does not show snapping behavior, but out of insecurity she may move forward barking. Responsible management and safe leadership are therefore important. In everyday life, Gina is otherwise a eager-to-learn and active young dog. She is food-motivated, already knows sit and place, and walks well on the leash. Recall and leash manners are still being practiced. A dog school or joint activities would surely bring her joy. True to her age as a young dog, she also has some mischief in her: shoes get carried around now and then, toys are "borrowed," and unsupervised food is extremely interesting to her. In the house, Gina is pleasant and house-trained and enjoys cuddling with her people on the sofa. Car rides now work well, although she still occasionally gets a little queasy. At home she reliably alerts to visitors or unfamiliar noises. A quiet, rather rural home with a securely fenced garden would be ideal for her. Older, understanding children are conceivable; cats, however, should better not live in the household. Gina needs people who give her security, convey clear boundaries to her, and continue to accompany her lovingly through this exciting developmental phase. She brings great potential and, with the right people, will develop into a wonderful, close companion. Gina is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and will be rehomed with a protection agreement following a positive preliminary check. Wearing a safety harness is required when collecting the dog. Such a harness (3 straps) can be purchased for only 25€ at the same time.

Gina (geb.

About Gina

What life with Gina looks like

Gina is a puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Gina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
