Adopt Giselle

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Mixed breed born around ca. 10/2025 currently about 35cm tall Compatible with: male dogs, female dogs, cats and children The young Giselle is right in the middle of this wonderful puppy stage, where every day is a little adventure. With her curious eyes, she looks at the world as if she had a thousand questions – and at the same time has so much trust in her heart. Currently, she lives with other puppies at our friends' place in a Portuguese animal shelter. Despite the hectic daily routine there, she has preserved her friendly, open nature. Giselle approaches her surroundings with curiosity, always ready for a game, a pet, or simply a moment of closeness. She is typically playful as a puppy, exploring her environment with tentative steps and learning a little bit more each day. She gets along well with other dogs and also meets cats in a friendly, unassuming manner. She brings exactly the mix you would wish for in a young dog: joy of life, curiosity, and a soft heart that wants to bond closely with people. Of course, Giselle still has to learn everything a family dog should know – house training, leash manners, the small ABC of being a dog. But she comes with the best prerequisite: she wants to please, is attentive, and very devoted to people. With loving, patient guidance, she will develop into a loyal companion who will go through thick and thin with you. Giselle is looking for a home that gives her security and safety, and explores the world together with her – step by step, paw in hand. May Giselle let her little heart grow big with you? Giselle is obviously microchipped, vaccinated, registered, and has been checked by a veterinarian for travel arrangements. Additionally, she brings an EU vaccination passport with her to her new home. We have put all the pictures we have of Giselle into a slideshow at the top of the page. Take your time to look at the pictures or click on them to see the next one. Contact:

Kontakt: Julia Streitl 01 77 – 21 16 44 7

About Giselle

What life with Giselle looks like

Giselle is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Hoffnungsvolle Tierherzen e.V. in Essingen.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Giselle, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Giselle?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hoffnungsvolle Tierherzen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Giselle on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Giselle if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hoffnungsvolle Tierherzen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Giselle already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Giselle isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hoffnungsvolle Tierherzen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Giselle and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
