Hulda

Mixed Breed · Female

Mixed breed born around 12/2025, currently about 42cm tall. Compatible with: male dogs, female dogs, cats and children. Hulda is a young female dog full of joy, curiosity and charm. With her beautiful bright eyes, cheeky look and playful nature, she immediately captures everyone's heart. She is still at the beginning of her life and is waiting to finally discover the world outside the animal shelter. The lovely female dog shows herself open, friendly and sociable. She meets people with interest and brings the wonderful mix of youthful energy and loving nature. Hulda wants to play, learn, run around and then happily settle down by the side of her humans. Living with her siblings at the Spanish animal shelter, she wishes nothing more than to leave this life behind soon. A home of her own where she can feel safe and belong would be the greatest happiness for Hulda. Of course, as a young female dog, she still has a lot to learn, but she has the best prerequisites to enthusiastically and eagerly adapt to her new life. Hulda is compatible with other dogs and also knows cats. Therefore, she could move into a home with existing animals, but she could also be happy as the only princess if her humans give her enough time and attention. Who will give this special young soul the chance for a loving home and show Hulda how beautiful life can be? Hulda is microchipped, vaccinated, registered and checked by a veterinarian. She also brings an EU vaccination certificate with her to her new home. All the pictures we have of Hulda are arranged in a slideshow on the top of the page. Please take the time to look at the pictures, or click on them to see the next one. Contact:

About Hulda

What life with Hulda looks like

Hulda is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hoffnungsvolle Tierherzen e.V. in Essingen.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hulda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hulda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hoffnungsvolle Tierherzen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hulda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hulda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hoffnungsvolle Tierherzen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hulda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hulda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hoffnungsvolle Tierherzen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hulda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
