Gloria

Bengal · Female · Young · 2 years

Gloria was found in Leipzig and shortly after her arrival at the shelter, her health condition deteriorated significantly and she received long veterinary treatment and was also spayed. She has survived this severe cold, no longer shows symptoms and is now ready to move into a new home. As far as we can judge, she is typical Bengal cat: very active, strong, loud and intelligent. The compatibility with conspecifics is currently being tested, but since this cat breed is considered very social, keeping it with other, similarly spirited cats, ideally further Bengal cats, is desired. Since these cats get bored very quickly, adequate employment and space should be provided in addition to a conspecific. Probably a secured balcony in an ordinary city apartment will not be enough. The ideal would be an additional outdoor enclosure in which the animals can romp, climb and hunt prey without really becoming a danger to birds, for example. If you are interested in one of our cats, please contact us by email. Describe how the cat will live with you in the mail and send us a phone number. A caretaker will then contact you. Animal descriptions are based on observations at the shelter or information from third parties and do not represent guaranteed properties.

About Gloria

What life with Gloria looks like

Gloria is a young adult bengal cat waiting at Tierheim Leipzig in Leipzig.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gloria, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gloria?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Leipzig handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gloria on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gloria if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Leipzig will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Gloria already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gloria isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Leipzig early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gloria and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
