Goku

Male · Adult · 4 years

Goku is a shy little tomcat who is struggling with the chaos at the shelter. He was rescued along with two other cats from a backyard. The woman who fed them passed away, leaving the cats alone. Now Goku is safe, but this place still feels unfamiliar to him. Except for the backyard where he spent his whole life, he knows nothing else. If you give him some time to gain confidence, you'll discover a loving cat who loves to cuddle. Would you like to offer Goku a spot on your couch? You know that change can be difficult for cats and Goku will probably be very shy at first? Are you willing to work with him and invest time and patience? Great! Check out our website and fill out the self-assessment. We'll get back to you. And a general request to all cat owners: Please have your cats spayed or neutered! Street cats usually come from the uncontrolled mating of unspayed outdoor cats. Nobody wants to take care of the kittens, and they rarely survive longer than six months on the streets. Cars, diseases, parasites, and cruel people are deadly for these poor souls. Help prevent cat suffering by having your cats spayed or neutered! Thank you!

Danke!

About Goku

What life with Goku looks like

Goku is a adult cat waiting at Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Goku, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Goku?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Goku on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Goku if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Goku already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Goku isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Goku and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
