Breed: Herding mix Age: 01-11-2020 Coat: Short-haired Medical: Vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, dewormed, and declawed. Temperament: Cheerful, enthusiastic, cuddly House-trained: Yes Hi everyone! May I introduce myself? I’m Goofy, a cheerful fellow aged 5 years old. I’d love to live up to my name—because as you can see, I’m quite the tall, lanky guy. I ended up in foster care because I had a tendency to nip at people’s legs when I wasn’t sure how to handle a busy situation. Luckily, my caregivers realized that I respond really well to boundaries—if only you take the time to calmly explain what’s expected of me. I’m pretty quick to be persuaded by a tasty treat, too. We practice this diligently here, and my trainers would be happy to show you how you can manage it at home. Besides, I really enjoy human company! At first, I might still find men a little bit intimidating—but with just a bit of patience, you’ll win my heart faster than you think. Playing is my absolute favorite hobby. What I love most is involving my people in the fun; playing together is so much more enjoyable than playing alone! I can also happily entertain myself with a toy or a yummy treat. Indoors, I like to settle down quietly on my cushion. In between, though, I’ll pop over to see if there’s a cuddle waiting for me. After all, being together is just so much more fun! When we’re out for a walk, I’m usually busy doing my own thing. If I decide to head off in a certain direction, I’ll happily take you along with me, even with my somewhat clumsy gait. I love to sniff around and explore, and I tend to pay less attention to you during those moments. When I spot other dogs, I get excited and sometimes start barking away (they call that “vocalizing” here). Most of the time, I just want to go say hello! In new situations, I can be a bit nervous at first. I’m looking for an owner who’s confident and steady, someone who’s willing to help me adjust to new environments and who’s ready for a lifelong companion. Do you think you’d like to join me in exploring the world and having lots of fun together? If so, drop me a message at info. I can’t wait to meet you!

Ras: Kruising herder Leeftijd: 01-11-2020 Beharing: Kortharig Medisch: Gevaccineerd, gechipt, gecastreerd, ontwormd en ontvlooid. Karakter: Vrolijk, enthousiast, knuffelig Zindelijk: Ja Hoi allemaal! Mag ik mezelf even voorstellen? Spelen is mijn allergrootste hobby. Samen is nou eenmaal veel gezelliger!

About Goofy

What life with Goofy looks like

Goofy is a small adult dog waiting at Dierenopvang Hart van Brabant in Netherlands.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Goofy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Goofy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenopvang Hart van Brabant handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Goofy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Goofy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenopvang Hart van Brabant will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Goofy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Goofy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenopvang Hart van Brabant early rather than rehoming privately; they know Goofy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
