Gordi

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 7 years

Gordi is a cat born in July 2019 who lived with other cats in the home of an elderly person. After that person passed away, none of the family members wanted to take in the cats... and from one day to the next, Gordi lost everything. Now he is at the shelter, an environment he does not understand and that feels completely strange to him. He has gone from a home full of routine and security to a reality that frightens him, so he appears scared and confused. Gordi can be shy, but once he sees there is no danger, he becomes very affectionate and close. We are sure that in a home, with patience, respect, and lots of love, he will be able to regain his trust and enjoy human companionship again. We are looking for a calm home for him, with no rush, where he can adjust at his own pace, feel safe, and rediscover what it means to have a family. If you are interested in meeting him, you can read the information about the and fill out the form.

Barcelona) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. Can I adopt Gordi if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Barcelona) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Gordi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

Talk it through with Barcelona) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gordi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically.
