Gordon

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy

Gordon is a friendly mixed-breed male dog who is located in our partner animal shelter Hogar de Asis and is waiting from here for a beautiful home with people who want to lead a great life with him. Gordon was originally rescued from a Perrera and has been in the care of our animal welfare partner Tere since June 2026. We do not have any further information about his past, but it seems that Gordon himself does not care, because for him there are only friends, play and fun in life. He likes everything and everyone, and vice versa. Gordon is a real sympathizer who is full of life. He has shown his lovable nature to us from day one and enjoys the company of dogs as well as humans. He does not become unpleasantly pushy, but behaves politely and respectfully to all persons he has to deal with. Whoever is looking for an open-minded, nice and cosmopolitan dog should not miss to watch Gordon's videos below. In dealing with conspecifics, he presents himself as compatible, he would love to play all day and have fun together. He is popular with all dogs and almost always manages to animate them to play. With older dogs that do not want to play with him, he sometimes hits rock bottom and gets a scolding. Then he trots away and looks for another companion. In Gordon's new home, a compatible first dog of the small group can be there, but it does not have to be. He can also be happy as a single prince, as long as he has people by his side with whom he can experience and learn a lot. His caregiver Tere describes Gordon to us as a 10-star dog who will catapult himself into the heart of his future owners. With an initial adaptation phase and basic training, Gordon can integrate and feel comfortable in many dog-friendly lifestyles. We could imagine him with a young, active couple who start with Gordon in the world of dogs, or with a family or down-to-earth older people. Whether on daily walks or at the weekend on exciting hikes and excursions or on trips, Gordon will be enthusiastic about almost everything he can be part of.

About Gordon

What life with Gordon looks like

Gordon is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gordon, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gordon?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gordon on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gordon if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Gordon already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gordon isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gordon and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
