Gremby

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 9 years

Gremby is looking for a foster home. Gender: Male, Neutered: Yes, Breed: Mixed, Age: 10 years (November 2016), Height: 39 cm, Weight: 16 kg, Origin: Romania, Location: Foster home, Since: 07.Sep. 2026 🐾 Hey, have you forgotten about me? 🥹 It's me, your Grems! ❤️ I wanted to let you know I'm still here and looking for my forever home! 🏡 I've really settled in well at my foster home and show more and more what a great guy I am! I'm active, full of life, curious and really want to learn new things! I especially love going to dog school. Whether it's dog sports or trail running, I'm in my element! 🐕💨 And to be honest: For my almost 10 years, I'm a real rocket! 🚀 Of course, I'm still a little stubborn with my own opinion. 😎 That's why I'm looking for people who can handle me confidently, give me security and accompany me lovingly but consistently through life. It would be especially great if I could continue to visit my beloved dog school. Maybe even the one I currently go to with my foster mum? 🥰 As for my new home, I do have a few wishes: 🐾 I would prefer a home without children. 🐾 I could get along with a suitable first dog. Just imagine, I'm even getting along quite well with the house dragon Kira! 🐉😂 🐾 Most of all, I would love to have people who still really want to do things with me. Because I'm not old yet! And you know what I wish for the most? ❤️ To finally arrive somewhere and stay. With people who take me as I am, who laugh with me, learn, experience adventures and never let me go again. As nice as it is at my foster home, I notice that I'm getting more and more attached to my foster family and my life here. That's why it would be so great if I could find my own people soon. People who I can stay with forever. 🥹 Maybe you are my person? ❤️ Then please get in touch! I would love to get to know you. And if you can't give me a home, please share my post. Maybe my big luck is just a click away. 🍀 Your Grems (Gremby) 🐾❤️ Interested in Gremby? Have you been interested or do you have any questions? Would you like to come for a visit? Please contact us! 🍀 Euer Grems (Gremby) 🐾❤️ Interesse an Gremby? Wurde Ihr Interesse geweckt oder haben Sie noch Fragen? About Gremby

What life with Gremby looks like

Gremby is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Pro Vita Animale e.V. in Essen.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gremby, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gremby?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pro Vita Animale e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gremby on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gremby if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pro Vita Animale e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Gremby already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gremby isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pro Vita Animale e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gremby and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
