Gringo

Male · Senior · 10 years

When a dog arrives at the animal shelter who gives kisses from the doorstep, jumps with joy at the sight of a person and looks straight into their eyes with hope, we know that it's someone special. And that's exactly what Gringo is. A walking happiness on four paws, who needs only one thing to be completely happy - a home of his own. For whom is this dog? For someone who is looking not just for a dog, but a true companion in life. Gringo is a social soul, loves contact with people and very much values closeness. He will do great in a family with children - he loves them with his whole tail-wagging heart. He is also a good candidate for people who already have a dog - he doesn't have problems when interacting with other dogs. Who are we looking for? Best for someone who has time and desire for walks together (because walking is his second name!), someone who likes to cuddle and doesn't mind wet kisses given out in surprise. Gringo can live both in an apartment and in a house with a garden - the most important thing is that he has his person next to him.

PL·Show original

About Gringo

What life with Gringo looks like

Gringo is a large senior dog waiting at Funny Pets Czartki in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gringo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gringo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Funny Pets Czartki handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gringo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gringo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Funny Pets Czartki will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Gringo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gringo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Funny Pets Czartki early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gringo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
