Grisella

OverMama is looking for a roommate for herself and her kittens. It sounds like overprotective helicopter parenting. I definitely am not that kind of mom. Yes, in the first days after birth, I always double-checked to make sure all my 5 kittens were with me. And when the caregivers gently took all my little ones away so they could refresh the bedding and supplies for the whelping box...I quickly gathered them up and put them back in the box. That's where they belong, my offspring shouldn't be "just lying around" somewhere... Also, I noticed that there weren't any new blankets in the box yet. It was uncomfortable. Well, now the little ones are big enough to go out into the world on their own. At first, they need some help. And that's where you come in. I'm looking for a loving home for my offspring. One where they can play, romp, cuddle and do lots of silly things. Preferably with two people. Yes, there will always be one left over when there are 5. But I have raised my boys and girls to be confident young cats. So it shouldn't be a problem for them to move into a shared home where there is already a cat that loves to play and romp just as much as they do. When I find homes for all of them, I would also like to move to a new place with lots of pampering (cuddling, a well-stocked cookie jar...), and outdoor access, which is important. I'm getting a little cabin fever here:-) I don't need another cat to join me. I'd love to finally have some peace and quiet...and not have someone jumping around me all the time wanting something from me... Animal adoptions are currently by appointment only. We ask that you contact us in advance if you are interested in one of our animals, either by phone at 05481/4146 or via email.

About Grisella

What life with Grisella looks like

Grisella is a young adult cat waiting at Tierheim Tecklenburger Land in Lengerich.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Grisella, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Grisella?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Tecklenburger Land handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Grisella on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Grisella if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Tecklenburger Land will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Grisella already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Grisella isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Tecklenburger Land early rather than rehoming privately; they know Grisella and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
